RUR Report 1

Reporting on robots, what was I thinking? Am I interested in robots? yes. Am I going to be able to find content for a weekly entry? maybe. Yet I can't help think that I would have been better off writing about my observations or something of the like, but then again I think that is what my other blog is for.

Time to get on with it. In case you were wondering about the title of my entry and all subsequent entries, the title was selected from the work of Karel Čapek the Czech author who introduced the world to the word "robot". While he denied that it was his doing and gave credit for the creation of the word to his brother, I know that all good men will refuse something at least twice before accepting praise or credit. Čapek's play R.U.R. Rossum's Universal Robots was written in 1920 and first premiered in 1921. At any rate the play has it all; love, violence, despair, love again and of course robots. The ingredients if you will of any good science fiction work.

In other technology related news, my iPhone is now old. I need a new iPhone, but by the time that I get one then the new one will be out. Where does the cycle end? Applying Moore's Law very very broadly seems to be the trend at Apple. Oh, that and making a buck. iPhone 1.0 for sale.
